About us
Who we are
We are a team of change-makers who believe that every helping hand can raise a child and create a better future for them.
We started extending help to needy children and youth who were eager to study and work for a better life. This moment intensified when we found that there were many such underprivileged children who needed help with food, shelter and education. Our team expanded and we spread out in different regions to make sure we cover all possible areas and help as many children as possible.
We now run shelter homes, schools and a reasonable mess that helps such needy young people. We also have our helpline offices spread throughout the country so one can approach us anytime they need help.I strongly believe that those who have shared it with him have not, the needy, especially when they are orphaned at a very young age. These are the words of the founding president. Having been an orphan himself at an early age, he knows the subject from the inside out. This is why he took early retirement from the World Bank Group to devote part of his life to helping others. ADI wishes to help promote the education of these young orphans for the improvement of their lives. This goal will be achieved through the development of strong partnerships with foundations, institutions and individuals to fund scholarships and ultimately build an orphanage in Agboville, Côte d’Ivoire.
The founder is convinced that education is the key to success considering what he has been able to achieve on his own.
Three key words for success: education, education and education. Thank you.
We now run shelter homes, schools and a reasonable mess that helps such needy young people. We also have our helpline offices spread throughout the country so one can approach us anytime they need help.
Our HISTORY
Agboville Development Initiative was founded on July 20, 2010 when its founding president met some close friends to form an association that would realize its vision of supporting the community in which they live, especially young orphans. Looking back on his own life (being an orphan at 13), the founding president felt the need to help those who are going through his past situation. Without the help of the government’s scholarship system, he would not have succeeded and could not have provided for his family.
This vision was then accepted by the small group and it became their genuine and passionate desire to play an active role in supporting their community in their continued efforts towards realizing their aspiration. With faith and longing, nothing is impossible.
ADI members, having gone through similar conditions in the past and having obtained their education largely through government scholarships, felt compelled to come together and help improve the situation, even with limited financial means. It is particularly touching for them that many children orphaned by natural diseases, civil war or AIDS find themselves in situations they did not ask for. Without support, even the brightest will miss out on what is their best hope « education, » and continue to miss out on life.
